Lydia Cao is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Next Level Lab, having recently completed her PhD in Education at the University of Cambridge, England. Her research interests encompass climate education, design thinking, edtech, dialogic education, and teacher learning. Her current research focus on reimagining climate education and earth-centered design thinking. She is also exploring the implications of Generative AI for teaching and learning whilst supporting teachers to navigate ChatGPT in classroom settings. In her doctoral study, she co-designed a professional development program with teachers in Pakistan that integrated mixed-reality simulations to foster dialogic teaching in science classrooms. Prior to pursuing research, Lydia taught math and science in middle and high school in Canada.
