This is a 12-month action research project investigating the integration of contemporary art into Boston Public Schools (BPS) K0 and K1 early childhood program. Working in partnership with the Harvard Art Museums (HUAM), the publicly available Smithsonian Learning Lab (SLL), and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), NEA will be utilized to undertake primary data collection and analysis focused on constructing meaningful education practices with contemporary art for teachers,students, and curriculum designers in Boston. Led by Dr. Steve Seidel and Dr. Louisa Penfold from Project Zero, outcomes of this project hold local, state, and national significance in producing high-quality arts curriculum tools in early childhood classrooms and beyond.
