As a Center for Digital Thriving Fellow, Kate (alongside Nicole Davis) will build on their existing work on AI literacy to develop new resources on Critical AI Literacy.
PZ Work
As fellows with the Center for Digital Thriving, Kate and Nicole will build on their existing work on AI Literacy to develop new resources on Critical AI Literacy. The goal is to help educators and students go beyond seeing AI only as a shortcut, a productivity tool, or a cheating problem. They will engage educators and students as co-design partners as they develop SnapLessons that support Critical AI literacies: helping students examine how AI shapes information, identity, relationships, creativity, labor, opportunity, and power.
These resources will address real concerns students are facing now and will continue to face after high school, building agency to recognize when technology influences them, when it limits or expands their choices, and when human judgment still needs to lead. The fellowship will support development of a shareable set of SnapLessons and a practical model that connects classroom experience with systems-level implementation.
