Interdisciplinary Teaching at the International Baccalaureate Organization

Text:

The Interdisciplinary Studies Project is collaborating with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to devleop teacher support materials for interdisciplinary teaching in the IBO's affiliated schools around the world. During late 2006 and early 2007, Project Zero researchers will document promising interdisciplinary teaching practices in grades 6-10 (what IBO calls the "Middle Years Program" grades) at several IBO-affiliated schools in difference regions of the world (e.g., Europe, Latin America, North America). Based on that on-site research, Project Zero will prepare an in-depth guide to interdisciplinary teaching in the context of International Baccalaureate schools, with a special focus on the curricular focus of the IBO's Middle Years Program.
