The Learning Innovations Laboratory is a consortium of researchers and practitioners who are leaders in the field of organizational effectiveness, learning, innovation and change. Members and researchers collaborate by sharing experimental work and emerging thinking in order to generate effective future practices in their various fields. After each annual “lab,” researchers and LILA team members create tools for broader distribution based on the insights and learnings on each annual theme, explored by the group across the year.

In 2016-17, LILA investigated the theme of adaptive cultures considering culture from a variety of levels of analysis, focusing on those factors that lead to cultures that foster human and organizational flourishing, even in the face of change.  Academic experts who joined LILA during that year included: Mary Ann Glynn (Boston College), Michael Muthukrishna (London School of Economics), Damon Centola (University of Pennsylvania), Michele Gelfand (University of Maryland, College Park), Michael Hogg (Claremont Graduate University), and Sally Maitlis (University of Oxford). A set of 10 cards was developed to share the insights of some of these faculty members as well as the themes and questions the members of the lab explored. The front side of each card shares an overview of a particular idea and the back side offers question for individual or group reflection or conversation. (Note: For ease of download and distribution, this set of ten “cards” was designed to be printed on 8.5 x 11 paper and folded to create the front and back.)
